The Line-up

Jerry Weinstein- He is known for building one of the most dominant junior
college programs in history at Sacramento City College (Calif.) and is
considered one of the greatest minds in all of baseball. Having coached at
nearly every level, Weinstein’s 50-plus years of experience ranges from
coaching high school baseball in his home state of California to coaching
some of the top players in the college and professional ranks, both in the
U.S. and internationally. Baseball America honored Weinstein with their
Tony Gwynn Lifetime Achievement Award which honors those who have
made lasting contributions to the game of baseball. A member of the ABCA
Hall of Fame.

Ron Polk-Considered by many to be the “Father of Southeastern
Conference Baseball,” Ron Polk has just completed his 54 th  year coaching
college baseball with 51 of those years coaching at the NCAA-D1 level.
 
His resume includes 31 seasons as a head coach in the SEC, 1,373 wins,
six Halls of Fame, seven tours as a coach with the USA National Baseball
team, eight trips to the College World Series in Omaha and eight summers
coaching in the prestigious Cape Cod Summer League. Polk wrote “The
Book” on coaching baseball for players and coaches and as the author and
publisher of The Baseball Playbook. It has been the leading teaching
textbook used in over 450 college and university baseball coaching classes
with over 125,000 books sold.


Pat Doyle- Pat Doyle was a pitcher at Fresno State and in the Red Sox
Organization. As a Head coach at San Joaquin Delta College 1976-2000, his
teams compiled an overall record of 568-274 record. 
Pat is very active in the International coaching community, serving as a
manager and assistant coach for several teams, working for Major League
Baseball International and other organizations. For two seasons (Doyle
served as manager of the Anchorage (Alaska) Glacier Pilots and in 2017, he
served as an assistant coach for Team Israel, working with alongside Head
Coach Jerry Weinstein in the World Baseball Classic. He has been inducted
into five Hall of Fames including the ABCA.


Trevor Burmeister-This outstanding young coach is currently a hitting
instructor in the Colorado Rockies organization, for whom he has worked
the past four years. An excellent player at UW-La Crosse prior to joining
the Rockies, Burmeister served as the assistant baseball coach and
recruiting coordinator for Madison College (2016-19) and as the assistant
baseball coach for the University of Minnesota Duluth (2015-16). He has a
bright future in the game.


Shaun Wegner-The first-year Head Coach at UW-M, “Wegs” joined the staff
in 2017 as an assistant and serving as Associate Head Coach for the past
four seasons. During his time at the University, Wegner helped the program
to 129 wins, while the Panthers qualified for the Horizon League
Tournament in both 2019 and 2021.
 
Wegner returned to Milwaukee after spending the previous five seasons
with the NCAA Division III Whitewater Warhawks, where they claimed
Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships in four of his
seasons on staff as the team’s hitting coach, compiling an impressive 184-
53 overall win-loss record.

Wegner played for the Panthers where he was a two-year Captain, 2nd
Team All-Conference pick, and finished with a career batting average of
.286.
 
Paul Mrazek-The Head Coach for the Cranbrook, Montana’s American
Legion Baseball Team, Paul has a passion for the game which has led him
across the United States, Canada, and into Europe, where he is a much
sought after Clinician. He runs the Montana Baseball Coaches Clinic and is
known for among other things, a strong offseason and in-season
improvement program for his players.


Wisconsin HS Coaches- These three coaches have put their programs
among the most consistent in our state, with Hortonville and Menomonee
Falls both appearing in last year’s State Tournament. They will discuss
some of the keys that have been important in developing a pitching staff in
their programs.
