WBCA Awards 2009
The following were honored at the 2009 Hall of Fame Induction Banquet on February 14th, 2009.

2009 Man of the Year
Tim O'Driscoll - Tim O'Driscoll has completed 34 years of coaching at Arrowhead High School, never having a losing season. With over 700 wins, he holds the Wisconsin record for wins. He had 30 seasons with 20 or more wins. For 22 seasons, Tim has also been the official scorer for the Milwaukee Brewers, scoring over 1,500 games. He is a member of the WBCA Hall of Fame as a coach, and the Land O'Lakes Hall of Fame as a player. For the past 36 years, Tim has run baseball camps in the Lake County area for players and coaches. For the past five years, he has been the team coordinator for the Milwaukee Brewers Classic High School All-Star Game. For his committment to baseball in Wisconsin over 35 years, the WBCA was proud to present the Man of the Year Award to Tim O'Driscoll.

2009 Hall of Fame Inductees
Tom Lechnir - Tom Lechnir is the winningest baseball coach in WIAC history. In 19 seasons he has fashioned a record of 594-194. His winning percentage of .753 ranks third among active NCAA Division III coaches. Prior to being the head coach at UW-Oshkosh, Tom played for the Titans for four seasons, and was an assistant coach for six seasons. The Mosinee native has had a hand in 21 WIAC championships, 17 trips to the NCAA Division III World Series, and two NCAA Division III National titles.

Robin Schrank - In 20 seasons as head coach at Greendale High School, Robin Schrank's teams posted a record of 375-226, averaging over 18 wins per season. Under his leadership, the Panthers won six conference titles, made eight sectional appearances, and made five trips to the State Tournament. In those five state tournament appearances, Robin's teams were runner-ups once, and won State Championships in 1980, 1987, and 1995. Robin also coached in the All-Star Classic, and has been a speaker at the WBCA clinic.

Mark Simon - Following a brief career in the Minnesota Twin's system, Mark Simon began his teaching career at D.C. Everest, in Schofield. He spent 19 years as a JV Coach, before spending the next 19 years as the varsity head coach. In those 19 years, D.C. Everest compiled a mark of 268 wins, and only 92 loses. They also made three trips to the State Tournament under his guidance. In addition to coaching at both the JV and varsity level, Mark has also spent many years coaching the Everest Adult semi-pro team and the Legion team.

Pete Swanson - Pete Swanson has posted a 161-128 record as head coach at Viroqua High School, after serving many years at the JV coach. They have won three conference titles and two regional titles during that time. However, he is best known for his work with the Viroqua Legion Program. In 33 years, they have won over 900 games and played in 15 State Legion Tournaments. Viroqua won the State Legion Class A Championship in 1991, 2004, and 2005.

2009 Distinguished Service Awards
John Feldner - John Feldner is eneterin ghis 35th year as Varsity Baseball Coach at McFarland. He has also served for many years as a District Representative for the WBCA. John has been involved with McFarland's youth baseball program since he began coaching. He has been involved innearly every aspect of youth baseball from organizing, scheduling, field development, scheduling umpires, finding coaches, and diamond upkeep for all levels of McFarland baseball. He also runs the McFarland Baseball Clinic, which annually has over 200 participants. John has provided a quality baseball experience for anyone who has wanted to be a McFarland baseball player.

Jerry Guth - Jerry Guth was a teacher from 1952-1988. He also served as a coach during that time. For 25 years, he coached baseball at Algoma High School, 22 of those years as a head coach. From 1975-1983, Algoma won seven conference championships, five regional championships, and a 1983 State Championship. Jerry's committment to baseball ran very deep. At one point, Algoma had actually dropped baseball, but through the efforts of Jerry Guth, the did not cut the program. Jerry also rejuvenated and reoganized the Kewaunee County Legion program when it was faltering in the mid 1970's. His influence continues in the number of coaches he has helped develop.

Mike Morris - Mike Morris spent his entire career at Unity High School in Balsam Lake. He spent eight years as an assistant coach and 24 years as a head coach. For all those 32 years, Mike was one of two coaches involved in coaching and scheduling the 7th and 8th grade teams in the morning and the JV and varsity teams in the afternoon and evenings. As a head coach, Mike won 283 games. He had the pleasure of coaching in the State Tournament six times, five as a head coach, winning the State Championship once and Runner-Up twice.

Lee Schierkolk - Lee Schierkolk was involved with the Prairie Farm baseball program for 29 years, 28 of them as a head coach. He was largely responsible for a new baseball field built in 1985, and is currently involved with the development of a new baseball/softball complex. He has been involved with the Prairie Farm City league program, which includes boys and girls from 2nd through 6th grade. Lee was a coordinator of the fields for the City League, softball, Little League, and Babe ruth teams. For several years, Lee also coached a Babe Ruth team. While at Prairie Farm, Lee's team won 11 conference titles and four regional titles. Prior to coming to Wisconsin, Lee also coached three times in the Wyoming Legion State Tournament.

Bob Wilcox - The baseball career of Bob Wilcox actuallyh began as a bus driver for the Winnebago Lutheran Academy's baseball team. In 1980, Bob began a 17 year stretch as an assistant coach under Ray Siebel. Following that, Bob spent time as an assistant coach at Marian College and at Fond du Lac High School. he spent seven years as the head coach at Winnebago Lutheran before resuming his career and as an assistant coach. All told, he has spent 30 years coaching at various levels in baseball in Fond du Lac. Bob has also been very active in the WBCA, particularly for the All-Star Classic. He has also coached twice in the Jim Ganter Classic.
